Independent Designer: 19th and Whimsy

“Some days you need a super chic maxi dress and some days you just want to throw on a cute t-shirt and shorts,” say Lauren, the designer behind the contemporary women’s clothing line 19th and Whimsy. Offering a wide variety of versatile separates meant to be mixed and matched and perfect for transitioning day into night; this independent designer has a passion for helping women look their absolute best!

Her love for fashion design began in the early 2000s when she was working in the industry’s hotspot, downtown Los Angeles. After a few years of living and working in LA, she realized that in order to bring her designs to her hometown of Hawaii, she needed to start her own company, and she did.

Featuring exclusive prints, embellished details, and bits of sparkle in the fabrics, Lauren believes that incorporating an element of whimsy into fun modern design is the perfect recipe for effortlessly chic style. The designer shares her modern, eclectic, and feminine flair in all her pieces.

One of her most unique prints has a sentimental inspiration – she designed a custom print by using her beloved dog’s painted paw prints, shrinking them down, and creating a colorful floral print. While her beloved pet has since past, she is forever remembered and celebrated in the whimsical designs found in 19th and Whimsy. Lauren’s favorite piece has this print in a flowing chiffon dress.

Loren always strives for thoughtful design, high quality, which she pairs with a heap of patience and takes it step by step. As a small business owner, she recognizes the amount of endless hard work it takes to create something beautiful and shares her joy with the independent fashion community as it grows.

I’m in awe of this inspirational independent designer as she steps out on her own and forges ahead creating her own path in the fashion world. Her sweet and whimsical pieces are available in her Etsy shop.
